This production will run October 31 and November 6, 7, 13, and 14 at 7:30pm AND November 1, 8, and 15 at 2:00pm at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre.

Caroline or Change Character Breakdown

Please Note: The age ranges and gender identities listed indicate the age or gender that the character should appear onstage and does not need to match the age/gender identity of the performer. Caroline or Change requires casting  for specific race or ethnicity as noted in the Character Breakdown below. All actors in adult roles must be 15 years of age or older. 


Caroline Thibodeaux: Works as a maid to the Gellman family. She is a divorcee with four children and resistant to change in the world. Bitter, tired, devoted.

​​Typical Audition Procedures

Rockville Musical Theatre auditions vary by production but typically include a vocal audition and dance audition, with walk-ins and virtual auditions accepted. Callbacks are held if necessary. All roles will be open and unpaid. RMT does not precast any role in any production.

Other Information:

Shoes & Makeup: Cast members are responsible for obtaining the proper footwear for rehearsals and performances. For health reasons, cast must also supply their own makeup. Exceptions may be made for those few characters requiring specialty makeup. RMT will provide a designer who will meet with the cast to explain the concepts, color palette and application techniques.

Our Commitment to Equitable & Accessible Theatre Practices: RMT is committed to creating an artistic environment where diverse voices are promoted, supported, and celebrated. The production team is committed to casting individuals of all ages, backgrounds, identities, body types, and abilities. RMT acknowledges the financial commitment of participating in community theatre. Through the Sonie Mathew Scholarship Fund, RMT may be able to offer support to volunteers who may need assistance in offsetting costs, such as membership dues, travel expenses, stage makeup, dance shoes, etc. The production team will also lead efforts to coordinate carpool options where needed.

 

Membership: As of 2025, RMT has moved to a volunteer-based model for membership. All cast members will be afforded voting rights for the year as well as access to discounted tickets at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre for RMT productions.

Rehearsals and Conflicts: Weekday rehearsals typically run Monday-Thursday evenings, while weekend rehearsals will typically take place on Saturday from 10 - 2pm. No non-tech week rehearsals will go past 10pm. Rehearsal times are subject to change. Actors must be available for all performances and tech week. No conflicts with show dates will be accepted.
